I think that's in reference to the son that was shot in the head. Both the prosecution and defense agree that the son doesn't remember anything from that night and so won't testify.

There are only three possibilities. Either the mother killed her daughter and attempted to kill her son and he is taking the fall for her. Jermaine killed the daughter and attempted to kill the son and is claiming an accidental discharge of the gun or the son killed his sister and when Jermaine found out he shot the son in a non fatal shot and then claimed that the gun went off accidentally.

That is a very real possibility. While the parents were out, the son found the gun, shot his sister 4 times and when Jermaine came home he discovered the homicide. Jermaine then shot the son in a non fatal way and is now taking the fall.

That or he's covering for the son who found the gun while the parents were out. The son shot his sister four times and then the father shot the son in a non fatal way and has claimed that the gun malfunctioned.
