  1. He's both a witness for the defence and state. Now he wants to plead the fifth so he won't incriminate himself.

  2.  @haroldjohnsond1124  What happens if he incriminates himself by giving testimony and his words are used to convict him at a later date? If you were his attorney wouldn't you advise him to plead the fifth?
