The whole case comes down to the interpretation of the Citizen's Arrest Law. Did the McMichaels have immediate knowledge that a crime had been committed? This is what the jury will have to decide.

@eriv4735 The law allowed them to conduct a citizen's arrest. The prosecutor misquoted the law. Read the law again, there are two parts to the law. All they needed was reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion.
