Note that no shots were fired till Ahmaud went for the gun. This is a case of self defence. Ahmaud was suspected of burglary and the three men tried to detain him. Ahmaud made a poor choice when he went for the gun which ended in his demise.

@ZenYoda Agreed. The men had somewhat of a justification to detain Ahmaud on suspicion of burglary. The gun was pointed at him so he would stop and wait for police. Once he made a bee line towards Travis in order to take his gun away, his fate was sealed. It's a do a die scenario for both men. Travis has the right to defend his life.

@Mikinaak2023 Ahmaud tresspassed on multiple occasions. Therefore he was suspected of theft. They had the right to detain him under the citizen's arrest law. Once he went for the gun, Travis had the right to self defence. This could end up being a hung jury.

@antoinerobeson4434 Travis McMichael was not trigger happy. He only shot when Travis tried to wrestle the gun away from him. Travis acted in self defence. If Ahmaud had stood still till police arrived, he'd still be alive. Sometimes we make poor decisions.

@weytogoman 12 jurors got it wrong because the judge didn't explain the law to them. There are two parts to the law. One deals with misdemeanors and the second part deals with felonies.

@AprilAnnShintaniKua Many innocents are in jail right now. Hopefully they can appeal their sentence.
