They see a gun in hand as a threat and must neutralize that threat. Remember any reasonable officer would have shot given the same circumstances.

  19.  @GRIGGINS1  The no knock warrant allows officers to enter a premises so that the suspects don't have time to dispose of evidence. This warrant was in relation to a homicide and the officers wanted to gain entry so as to secure the evidence.
