  1. Lee Merrit is a clown like Benjamin Crump. This has nothing to do with race. The three men suspected Ahmaud of theft and they attempted to make a citizen's arrest. Ahmaud died when he went for the gun.

  2. The defence attorney made that statement to contrast what Ahmaud was, a good natured young man to what he had become, a thief and a schizophrenic who used to get angry. Don't forget that his mother called the police on him because he would not give her the keys to her car. Also note he was dubbed The Jogger because he would enter into stores and run out with stolen goods.
