  1. Without try and error we would still row our dragon boats. The Germans lost one and the Brits 2 major ships by friendly ramming, as a result of the battle of Lissa, failures of the admiralties.

  2.  @2adamast  Yes, Admiral Hipper & Glowworm rammed each other in 1940, Glowworm sunk and Hipper was damaged. A brave action by Lieutenant Commander Gerard Roope. But Roope would have been more valuable, if he would have survived, than a damaged Hipper.
