10% of the German army were mechanized. Still in 1938 the French defense budget was higher than the German. The Blitzkrieg tactics were established by Guderian and Rommel who used their poor Panzer 1 and 2 as a unit. Blitzkrieg was necessary by the low ammunition reserves of Germany. For the Poland raid Germany had only ammunition supply for 6 weeks, in the case of howitzers only for 2 weeks. Battle of Britian was a fool's mission. Shot down british pilots drove back to their airbase flying the next free fighter. German pilots became prisoners of war. The Me262 story in the vid is wrong. The first german jet flew in 1939. But Luftwaffe does not see any need for it, because they were so superiour in the Spanish Civil war. The development was delayed for 3 years. What MHV mentioned was started end of 43. The vid quotes another bullshit about german strategic bombers. Göring said, my Führer do not ask me, how big are your bombers, but he will ask me, how many bombers are ready for action. The OKW saw no necessity for strategic bombers caused by the Blitzkrieg. The whole war was not prepared, the Ural bomber was debated by the desperated start of Barbarossa and hindered by the idea, that such a strategic bomber had to be a Stuka.

Wrong, the Germans had a Maybach Panzer Diesel engine, but did not used it. German tanks not using a diesel engine were all misconstructed. And from the datas Panther was the best tank, but brought into action with only a few hours of trials.

@packr72 bullshit.....only one times in 44 the Germans were superiour in numbers over France. No allied plane flew alone....

@BatteriesExplains this is difficult to proof, because there were not many Panthers around....

I think the main strategic thesis is wrong. The SKL always denied German ships to engage enemy-warships, in spite of local superiority. But exactly this is British strategic order since centuries, to destroy enemy-forces at first. If the enemy forces are destroyed the ocean is open. The same counts for land-warfare. The Germans as the Japanese were looking for strategic geographical spots as called as a Wirtschaftsraum or in case of the Japanese, Islands. This was totally ineffective and led to defeat. Germans promoted staff-officers who thought politically, in case of failure, too. All military-oriented leaders as von Manstein or Marschall were sent home, or got no real command-power. Before Rheinübung, Captain Topp of Tirpitz made a Plan-Spiel on Board of Tirpitz in presence of Lindemann, Lütjens etc. and brought the later on confirmed evidence that a dash into the Atlantic is not possible anymore. The hesitation to send Tirpitz early into battle at Rheinübung was again a major aspect for the German defeat. Klotzen, nicht kleckern. The SKL was a band of cowards and not able to calculate oil-demand correctly.

Unfortunately all historical bloggers do not target the geo-strategic situation of Germany at the time of operation Seelion. Only the historical underdog Viktor Suworow (Wladimir Bogdanowitsch Resun) did it carefully. After the suppression of France only Axxis-Power armies were present in Central-Europe, all other armies were gone. Seelion was planned with around 70 divisions (of 77 or something in total). 7 divisions of the Wehrmacht to defend the Reich. In 1939 the Sovietunion had more warplanes and tanks operative than the rest of the planet (including the US). And after Molotow's menace against Romania and it's oil-ressources, Seelion was not possible without inviting the Red Army into a defenseless Central Europe.
