Does Nord VPN work in remote places like Vostok station?

I think putting the adverb in different spots changes the meaning. "I want solely to go the moon" means travelling there is the only thing I want to do, while "I want to go solely to the moon" means that there's only one destination, whereas "I want to solely go to the moon" sounds like wanting to be the only person who goes there (but it might be open to interpretation". So maybe "Xly to do something" means you do the entire thing in an X way, "to Xly do something" means you engage in the doing in an X way, and "to do Xly something" means while doing, the something happens in an X way. What do people think? Thus "to boldly go where no man has been before" sounds better than "boldly to go ..." or "to go boldly ..." because it's the attitude we take in the act of going.

@kaltaron1284 oh yeah that's right. some words can be written three ways, kanji, hiragana and katakana. There are a few words that are half katakana and half hiragana too like サボる.

I can see seven colours. Greek distinguishes blue and azure. The sea and the sky are different colours. How on earth can you call them the same colour!? On the other hand, Greeks don't distinguish orange as a distinct colour but map it to red or yellow according to the hue.

YouTube only gives us a thumbs up and down button. Why not a middle finger button if we really hate the video?

what about enticing them with bright cellars products and incapacitate them by getting them drunk? while the long term effects of repeated alcohol overdose can be harmful, knocking someone out by getting them drunk is relatively safe.

while crimes can theoretically be prosecuted as you describe, I've heard that in reality people have gotten away with numerous crimes on ships in international waters because it's too impractical to investigate and prosecute.

14:39 please be more careful with what you ask. I can't click the thumbs up button because someone smashed it.

I heard that the ancient Greeks used a barrier of a bit of cloth soaked in honey.

oh so i'd have to get like 3 dental x-rays a day over my whole life to even approach 1 sievert. that won't happen to a patient, but it's understandable that dental staff who are seeing several patients a day will need take precautions.

My mother tried it on us since it's popular here in Australia. Never again.

when i was a kid there were once or twice some tiny jellyfish like that in botany bay. they caused irritation but not severe.

Yuta (Japanese language learning channel) insisted that studies showed implicit acquisition is essential while explicit acquisition is virtually useless.

a couple of elections ago australia had a website where they asked you lots of questions and they plotted you on a graph based on how close your views were to each party. they plotted the parties on a two axis graph but alas i can't remember what the axes were. btw i came out at some point equidistant to each of the three major parties so that left me with a quandary about who to vote for. i can't even remember who i voted for ...

i first read about it in books long before the internet, when computers were still the size of a room.

Can you explain how cockroaches manage to read human minds?
1
halley of comet fame is, i've been led to believe, pronounced like the word hall, i.e., like "hawley". even if that's not right, it would at least rhyme with "sally", not with "bailey".

it's a shame they never mentioned porygon ever again in the anime. at least it appeared in future editions of the game, plus you could metamorphose it to porygon2 and later porygon-z.

@Tugela60 The reason the Athenians started the practice was specifically because the boy was not an adult and thus did not risk losing adult male status by taking a female role. That's why for the boy's protection the relationship had to end by the time the boy reached adulthood. But since this video is about the Romans, it's an entirely different matter. They were using slaiv boys, it was not consensual, and they were doing specifically to up their sense of masculinity by what they considered an act of domination and feminization. It had no redeeming aspects. At least according to the textbook I read.

After failing to find the stolen jewel that they were sure was stolen by a particular suspect anywhere in the suspect's possession, Holmes deduces, "The thief swallowed it!" Watson replies, "How can you tell?" Holmes replies, "It's alimentary, my dear Watson!"

the Hebrew Bible mentions other deities around at the time of the first Israelites worshiped by the Canaanites.

at least I doubt they'd come to eat us. their biology is unlikely to be compatible to ours.

I think Paul's concern was that out of the options available at the time - staying single with unsatisfied desires ("burn"), using prostitoots, raiping slaivs or marriage - he recommended marriage. correct me if I'm wrong but did Paul even use the term "burn" in reference to consequence of divine judgement? He never made reference to Gehenna.
1
@NickSteffen I went to an online concordance and I found Paul uses "burn" in the sense of inner turmoil in 2 Cor 11.29. He never used "burn" in the sense of God's judgement, but he did use "fire" in 1 Cor 3.13-15, so I guess your alternative interpretation is possible. Given that the context is not God's judgement but the most constructive way to deal with bodily needs, I think "burn with unsatisfied desire" works better for me.

... or that the judge wants to use whatever leeway he or she has to follow common sense and get the case over and done with.
1
@nunyabusiness9433 i agree. the issue needs to be resolved in accordance with the nation's and states' constitutions. that requires appropriate legislation. in the absence of such legislation, however, as a result of government negligence, the judge evidently put practicality and justice ahead of idealism.
1
if we weren't divided into states, it would be a constant nightmare. one level of burocrasy however you spell it could not possibly manage billions of people and do justice to their varied cultural, linguistic and geographical differences. my guess is that there would be constant bickering and civil wars would probably be breaking out.

FYI Even as late as the 1990s the Australian Taxation Office would not accept tax returns with documents attached by paper clip or staples. They had to be pinned.

So how come Aquaman can come soaring to the surface without hours decompressing?

the meanings of big, red and X are culturally dependent. there is no guarantee whether they'd be taken as warnings or welcome signs.

He didn't mention it presumably because there is none. People point to the lack of any reference to Christ's body as evidence that he really did come back to life.
1
@joecoolioness6399 Is unscientific the right word? Do you mean illogical? In which case, sure, there is no absolute irrefutable proof of anything. All you can do is look at the extant evidence and consider the possibilities. In which case, there will naturally be different opinions on what was most likely.

bacon and eggs ... now that sounds appetizing! tastier than a bowl of oat flakes ... but more effort to make and more washing up afterwards. not sure about orange juice though - that would upset my stomach.

this was really good but very long. i had to watch it over several days. maybe dividing it into parts would have worked.
