  1. From Louisiana, 50 miles from New Orleans— Children, as school opens, now are almost 1/3 of the numbers of positives for CoV-2 in New Orleans and Louisiana in general. Surgeries are cancelled because of no available beds. Testing at open schools result in students & teachers being sent to quarantine as ill or as spreaders. Community events are cancelled, rescheduled, then cancelled again because of epidemic spread. Please recall that Black people have high death rates from asthma !!! The gentleman from the neighboring state of Mississippi reports data similar to what is occurring in Louisiana. Mask mandates are back in force in LA. We are second behind MS in lowest vaccinated population. Also, the weather is very hot and humid; we call it “muggy.” And there are mosquitoes— no study to show if mosquito bites spread CoV-2; can’t see why they wouldn’t, though. They carry other blood-borne diseases…..
