This has been going on long before Coof. I stopped the EOL protocol my father & his Dr had started my Alzheimer’s mother on==the Dr said she’d be dead in 3 days! I was told I was not allowed to see her (?!) she developed a fear of me altho I never got near her! So I went to the hospital (outside of New Orleans, Louisiana USA) and had them get the morphine IV out of my mom’s arm. Her chart verified it was a medication she was allergic to! In the US, back then, the magic words I used were “patient representative/Ombudsman” and “charge nurse.” I’m not sure if I mentioned legal action and that I would return if necessary with a lawyer….. My mother lived for several more years.
