  7. Sweetie, you know nothing about Louisiana. I’ve lived in Louisiana for just shy of 3/4 of a century. We vote for the person, usually, and not the party. It’s time for you get schooled….. We elected Eddie Edwards, when everybody and their dog knew he was a bit of a crook — much in the fashion of good old Huey P Long. It’s called “share the wealth.” Everybody (yes EVERYBODY) comes out ahead but that includes the crooked kickback guys. That’s often (not always) better than nobody getting any better but the budget is balanced. Almost all people of both parties (working class people) voted for Edwin Edwards WHEN HE WAS IN A RUNOFF WITH A LEADER OF THE KU KLUX KLAN! John Bel Edwards has governed Louisiana the way the working class people wanted it governed. He got re-elected, but now reached his term limits. Jeff Landry was the very best candidate for Governor. He’s been a GREAT attorney general! PLEASE NOTE that Billy Nunguesser, the Lt Gov, did not run for Governor. Some folk like him: I and many others have no use for him. Keeping him as Lt Gov basically keeps him out of starting trouble, if he’s watched closely. He tried (after falsely signing John Bel’s name to a letter (!) ) to enter into a treaty with some Arab state — possibly Saudi Arabia. He’s a sly one, he is. There is no real change in political parties’ involvement in Louisiana; if you got someone you want to vote for, you show up and vote for them. John Bel likely would have been re-elected 1) if it were legal and 2) if Landry weren’t politically ready to take Louisiana further forward. Now I’ve told you how people vote in Louisiana; but as in all places, sometimes the “political machine” will wrest control from the workers. That did not happen in this election.
