The fact remains that big companies are still among his biggest donors, and that was only what I found among the top 10. There is also plenty of special interest groups.   7. +Dallas Smith It is still money given through the company, otherwise they should have just given money privately. You have a fair point that the majority of donations to Bernie come from small (supposedly grass roots) and unnamed sources. The problem is that if the small gifts don't have a record of who gave it, then you really don't know if under the table stuff is happening.

Jared Berg It's about more than just the free market, it's about freedom in general and when a populace is used to having real freedom, evils like what you mentioned are much less likely to come to power. Look how long it took the USA to become corrupted. It isn't a free market anymore, but they were one of the best places for freedom for awhile and that is why it took so long. Communism and socialism had to creep in slowly and started with schools and raised up new generations that feel normal with less freedom and more government hand outs.

  12. Piriathy Have you seen the "infrastructure" and cops lately? What you are supporting is a pipe dream, a magicians trick, or a bait and switch racket. (Not to mention all of the other things that government uses to hemorrhage money.) Everything you mentioned could be provided by private groups hiring private companies and all of them are individuals acting in their own interest without pointing a gun at their neighbor so he coughs up taxes to pay for something that he doesn't benefit from.

  13. Jared Berg What do those issues have to do with the free market? Are you implying that evils were caused by the free market or that no evils should exist in a free market? A free market would be based off of real wealth, so when the dollar was taken off of the gold standard, it was probably the beginning of the end.  Please don't pretend that your bubbles of prosperity followed by crashes are actually helpful. If you can't have steady and consistent growth, you don't have real prosperity.
