+leuan Hunt Yes I agree. We have every reason to speak out against a channel that we view as dishonorable and even more so when they silence dissent. While the channel has a right to remove the comment section on all videos if they want, it is very hypocritical for them to do so while pretending they are about spreading "ideas worth sharing" and creating conversations. It is mind boggling that some people like Kodama are not only happy with silencing certain people (as long as it isn't them I'm guessing), but they actively discourage people from speaking up about the problem.

Kodama "But that's what free speech is about: governments and rights." This channel is (or was) limiting free speech (their right to do so is irrelevant to the OPs request) in the form of comments. It doesn't matter that it has nothing to do with the right to freedom of speech because the "shall not be infringed" part only limits the government. If this channel has the right to do what they want, we have the right to stop using it altogether or demand changes from despicable people. You are also free to herp derp and tell us to shut up, but that means you side with people that are objectively and scientifically wrong, and you are actively supporting their silencing of dissent.

Kodama It's no big surprise you took the path of herp derping. Limiting when and how people can comment IS taking away their ability to freely speak in the comment section. Are you too stupid to understand this simple concept? Do you want to keep blithering on about irrelevant rights (or the lack thereof)? We have EVERY reason to speak up (when capable) about this channel silencing dissent, and ZERO reasons to listen to a stuck up know-it-all telling us to shut up.

Kodama Why do you keep harping on a point that I'm not arguing against? Like an animal fighting its own reflection in a mirror, you are not beating anyone but yourself. Let's see if you can be intellectually honest instead of a coward and answer a simple question. If I had and used the power to stop you from posting on any website or channel on the internet, wouldn't that be hurting or limiting to your freedom to speak online? Yes or no. Whether or not you have a right to speak online is irrelevant. I don't need to be a hero, nor do I care about being called dramatic. Call it whatever you wish, that won't change reality. When I have the power to effect change with the problem of these unknown people dying (unjustly), then I'll happily do something. Right now I have the ability to speak out against this channels dishonor and arrogant dismissals from the likes of you.

Kodama "but where does it say that everyone gets to comment everywhere all the time?" It doesn't, and like I keep telling you, I never said it did. There is no right to punish this channel or make them keep the comments open. This is irrelevant to the fact that they were removing the ability for EVERYONE to speak, thereby removing free speech. "There is no free speech on YouTube" Again you conflate being able to freely speak with the right of freedom of speech. The fact remains that you are freely speaking right now. "If they don't want comments, they can disable comments." Obviously. "You are not entitled to speak anywhere at all times,so this is not about freedom of speech" We have already told you it wasn't about that. Do we look like we are trying to address the government? "You are being dramatic." You are being repetitive.
