  4. If someone was pumping your $20, why would they stop at $20? It's not worth risking jail time for such a small amount. In fact they want someone that pays at the pump so they don't have a limit on what they are able to pump. It's sounds more like the station had a pump malfunction or they were right and you just didn't realize how low your gas was, or the gauge may be acting up while on low fuel.

  5.  @nailsarelife  But the number of times a pump malfunctions like that is very rare. I can count on one hand the number of times a customer claims foul while working at a gas station. That is less than one per year, and only one of those times did a manager authorize giving the full amount back. Now that I know about this scam and looking back on the event in my mind, the lady probably got scammed instead of the pump working wrong. However I don't think you were scammed in your case.

  6.  @nailsarelife  I think we can all agree with not wanting to lose money. Hope you find a good gas station. If you can I'd look for one built within the past 5 years or sooner. And don't fill your tank while the delivery truck is there, if there is any sediment in the underground tanks, it could get disturbed by the gas pouring in. Or at least so I've been told.

  7.  @bluesrocker33  Except you would feel gas going through the hose, the guy on the other side already started his side. He waits for you to stop paying attention, and then turns his pump off while your side keep showing the numbers going which is going into his vehicle.

  8. The "robbery" is because of biden's incompetence and the usual taxes that are hidden in the price. Because somehow it's green to stop producing your own oil and import it from far away. We are also paying for the blithering idiocy of sanctions that won't work, and they can't even get the story straight of whether it will be a deterrent or not.

  11. Except you wouldn't notice anything because your pump would start pumping gas from his side. He only turns it off when you stop paying attention, and there is a LOT of people that go back inside their car instead of watching the pump the whole time like they are supposed to do.

  16. Only if you notice the hose coming and going to the wrong side, otherwise you won't see anything wrong. Your gas will start flowing until you walk away or go inside your car.
