  2. The NASA used for the Apollo and other Programs Metrical units. First the US Air force tried to bring the US into space and they used the imperial system and failed. Than Wernher von Braun took over the job with the newly formed NASA. Von Braun´s first decision was to introduce the metrical system, because calculating with 7/8 feets may work on a farm, but does not bring you into the space.
