  1. They are reliable, but you need a good (non Merc) garage who knew how to service them. The MB dealer will always sell you new parts, but in the most cases a simple cleaning and contact spray solve the problems.

  4. Tip: Move around the rims with you fingertips and you instantly feel every damage to the rims. Some rims can become a expensive nightmare.

  5. Like any Mercedes, the W220 needs regular service. If the service is done regulary they run for ever. If the previous owner always used the kickdown, the chain in the V8 could be lenghted. Gearbox problems can be usually solved by just a gearbox oil change + flush, but some dealer/garages try to sell instead a new gearbox. There are also SIY videos on Youtube wich shows you how to clean the gearbox stearing by yourself if the litle valves are clogged.
