  2. There are no real suburbs of Berlin as Berlin expanded outwards and included the suburbs - hence many districs of Berlin have still the ending of "dorf" wich means village. The more you get ourside of the city the kindergarten places get more and the prices/rents get cheaper. But actually there are people taking a 2h commute by train to the job in the city for a cheap house with garden in the area around Berlin.
