The brake disk price of $7,000 is for ceramic brake disks wich cost aprox. $3,500 each, but the ceramic brake pads have been a expensive option on the RS7, they also last min 3x times longer than the regular brake pads. They are also red, but easy to identify as Audi prints in large letters ceramic on them.

There are companies who offer to refurbish the break disks if they have still enaugh meat on. The use a CNC grinder and make them exact plane. The price is usualy $50-70 per disk + shipping fee. This is particularly recommended if the disks are still in very good condition but have become glazed due to emergency braking.

Not everything, VAG Group has eg a extensive anti-theft protection for expensive spare parts. These parts can only be installed if the car is connected to a computer with VAG licensed software where the service garage is officialy registered. The serial numbers are read and compared online with the VAG database. If they (eg all ECU“s) are registered as stolen (parts of a stolen vehicle), they cannot be installed/unlocked in the car and the local police station is automatically informed about this. Countless workshops have already had police visits asking about the origin of the spare part.
