@ProXcaliber @ProXcaliber sorry not everyone drives like you do, is it wrong to change your volume or adjust your temperature while in motion? Even if you do it once, wouldn't it be better to have a button and not rely on a scteen? I don't give a shit about market trends. Remember how honda went to swipe controls for hvac and media and everyone criticized them for it so they returned to physical controls? VW completely ignored that and cut costs further with mk8 golf. All of this screen bullshit really is lame cost cutting by automakers and pushing on more gimmicky unreliable tech in the long run (what happens if those screens fail?) and then making us pay more for it. if I as a consumer of vehicles, am not vocal about it, who will?

vast majority of americans just have ego issues fueled by capitalist greed. my family is on our 4th minivan and we love watching crossover drivers seethe when we have better passenger and cargo space. and easier to get in and out too,.

@ProXcaliber "let people enjoy things" no lol, its shitty design through and through, that's my opinion. Its also unsafe because you need to take your eyes off the road to fiddle with simple controls (idrive8 on the xM for example makes you navigate through menus to adjust adaptive cruise following distance) idc if people like that shit, its a dumb design and its proliferating everywhere and ruining good interiors. Theres no reason why a car focused on driving engagement like an S650 Ford Mustang should have touchscreen hvac controls that take attention away from driving but here we are.

@ProXcaliber cool beans not everyone drives like you. Im arguing for OPTIONS for people to have, corporations are now reducing that. My car has steering wheel controls but they're not comprehensive and they don't do anything for hvac. Which is why i want those controls tacticle enough while im operating the car. I want to be able to operate the car mechanically without any screens. I don't need infotainment bs, just give me android auto. I only "rag" on people because the current generation of car buyerd have been led to believe they need to focus on gimmicks like the hyperscreen or tiktok in the dash over how the car is like to operate and drive. But to each their own i guess. I gave up buyint an MK8 GTi because the screen controls are god awful (you need to jump through multiple menus to turn off traction control) and there's gloss black plastic everywhere. For a car that is to be daily driven thats a big no for me

@ProXcaliber i can manipulate buttons without taking my eyes off the road. Your body can perform things with minimal focus if you can use your sense of touch. Screens take away from that concept and you are forced to look where you tap. I can adjust the hvac and media in my honda because without looking away from the road because i can feel out the buttons and where they are every damn time. Could i do that with idrive 8? Its funny how bring up phones too because i much prefer physical keys and home buttons for android, though nobody else does and now no phones like that exist in the flagship space. I also refuse to use guesture Navigation for that reason too. Idrc if my opinion differs from yours i hate this stupid trend and its affecting the cars I actually want to buy.
