In fact, the USDM FA5/FG2 Si made the same power with IRS and would have cost less too. Its also why Honda had the FD2 with the proper suspension and K20A for the Japanese market. That being said, as a daily the FN2 is quite fine

Oh the volume control, for example, is a stupid slider, when its been a knob in old cars for how many years now? The software itself is also pretty buggy in the early cars; maybe its fixed for mk8.5, but its fixing a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place. these have been pointed out in multiple reviews, so no, its not just me who is pointing this out. Its also how the Integra has a much better infotainment and more space inside than the TLX, despite the integra being a smaller class of car- teh TLX is designed for america , the integra is a reskin of the civic that was tested in Japan

  197. ​ @MrCarGuy  they have to make compromises for usabilty and performance while still keeping the car on a budget that can appeal to a wider demographic the 10th gen Civic is noted for how spacious it is and the amenties it offers while being lighter than the 9th gen while Honda could make a bespoke NA high revving engine, the development costs would have been too great most likely, as this K20C1 is also the basis for other K20Cx turbo engines powering Honda and Acura products also a high revving NA engine would be great on the track and sound nice, but it would be gutless for daily driving which is where most of these will end up; also the competition is turbocharged, which makes it harder for honda to just make an engine that can surpass the performance they offer yet still be suitable for a Civic in 2019 the car also weighs "so much" because it has to meet modern crash safety, and also still provide amenties that other cars in this segment provide in short, if you want an NA Spirited Civic thats not this aggressive, get the 2.0l Sport which has the NA K20 still and optional 6 speed manual or get an 8th gen Civic SI or Type R lol

  198. ​ @MrCarGuy  The Miata and BRZ can make do with those engines because they're designed as sports cars from the ground up, and not needing to be based off or share a majority of parts with a base model economy car or SUVs those cars also don't have to conform to desires of the average consumer, nor do they have to worry about beating records set by the competition while still seating 4 people comfortably and still having a boot while I personally do want Honda to make an improved K20A and stuff in a roadcar, the recession, the 9th gen Si, and everything after killed off any hopes of that but hey, if the 86 or ND meet your needs, go for it

  223. the 2 door integra type R was just a souped up version of the 2 door integra, the same way the type R is a souped up civic. Plenty of people "want" a 2 door car, but manufacturers only care about the people who BUY them. which is why the civic and accord coupe were killed off. If Honda doesn't have a business case for a base 2 door civic, why should they make a faster 2 door civic that appeals to even less people?  @LateNightDateNight

The stellantis ones will soon be replacing their 5.7 and 6.4 v8s too. But yes you are right in the sense that its very commendable mazda went out of their way to make a new i6+rwd platform to compete with bmw at a much lower price

Enough people complained about it that VW swore they would return to more physical buttons lmao The early mk8s also had buggy menus that were also kind of hard to navigate as well. Lastly, the piano black is a fingerprint and dust magnet. But sure, keep defending VW's clear cost cutting choices Btw, the new VW built Scout truck+SUV revealed last night reverted to more physical buttons and even volume knobs. Clearly something was broken at VW for that change to happen
