@SpeedRebirth Of course he is the odd one out. He is what we call the village idiot.

Wireless charging is terrible. Time to build a few new nuclear plants if we all change to that...

@gabrielphillips3551 Because the rest wanted to stay, while the English wanted to leave? The UK left yes, but England decided that.

@ark_ryl9384 Cables are going to be standardized too

But if the EU starts to look at how ridiculously inefficient wireless charging is, and Apple might be in the same position again. I don't think the EU is open to build a few new nuclear power plants just so we can end our use of cables.

Did you miss that this will be reviewed continuously? Why do you think the people working in the EU are stupid is the bigger question

@JakubMMajewski If you see this as "insane regulations", then you are in a such a small minority you don't even register on the scale. Look at the comments under this video, have you ever seen such a positive response to news of EU regulations? And you know why they react so differently to you? They are not brainwashed by anti-EU bias. One added hypocrisy most don't have, but you do, is that they don't come from a country that has gotten billions upon billions of EU funding to build up their nation, or keep their farmers afloat.

@SS369 The EU is investing billions upon billions into minimizing energy losses, ie efficiency. Just 30 million phones with wireless charging equals to an energy loss corresponding to 1400 windturbines. That is not the power to charge them, just the loss when doing it wireless. And we don't have the capability to change the laws of physics, so it will always be much worse than a cable. No magic improvement here, more than a few percent. If the EU gets serious about climate change, these chargers will go. Just like the V8's have done in Europe, and soon the rest of the world too.

Quiet now! Don't give GM any ideas. That's right up their alley

@PanosPitsi It doesn't matter. You have much more losses in a wireless system compared to a wirebased system. That is basic physics. No magic alignment done by Apple will solve that. And who cares what people choose? They will always choose what is most comfortable. Doesn't mean it lines up with the goals we have set for our civilization, ie, not wasting resources.
