  2. The point of most of these grinding games is that's the reason we play. You're sitting at a gambling machine, putting in your time repeating the same thing over and over, hoping for the best outcome, which is usually a very low chance. The very act is moronic. However, what goes on in your brain is different, you're anticipating a reward, you feel like you're working towards a goal, you're seeing numbers go up, then the eventual item drop for a huge flood of dopamine that reinforces the behaviour. It's enjoyable but in a basic way an animal enjoys feeding it's basic instincts. There is no greater understanding of yourself or the world, simply self pleasure.
