  2. Welcome to San Francisco development, Hollywood movies, corperate America etc. Mountains of overpaid meeting havers whilst workers are either overworked to exhaustion or play politics to avoid working at all.

  3. Because they nuked the balance for the fixed 1 tank team setup. Now tank kit has to be massively overtuned to make up that there used to be 2 of them, or even more in the old days. They also want to sell battlepasses and tiers to get the new heroes, so by overtuning them players want to buy power with the new overpowered hero.

  4. Even Helldivers team is probably overstaffed, Swedish work forces tend to inflate quickly but much harder to reduce due to very heavy labor laws and unions, so lots of people get held on doing busywork because you legally can't let them go even if surplus to requirement.

  5. They had a game to sell (Overwatch 2 was going to be a full priced game) so they went all in on the marketing and hype. They just couldn't deliver...anything. Even Overwatch 1 suffered like 2 years of no content before it was put out of it's misery. That says more about their development team than anything else.

  6. Overwatch died with Jeff Kaplan, the game was his baby, he called the shots and ensured the game had a vision. Very clear when executives told Jeff to go chase the Fortnite battlepass dragon, he gave them the finger and left.

  9. Because Blizzard is not your normal software company. Then are constantly scrapping perfectly good work because they want some kind of perfection. It's basically how they make their games. The only difference is WoW where they'll take anything and put it in there because they have subscription costs to maintain.
