@Soff1859 Some of what the other guy is saying isn’t true. Each state will have its own regulations but in my state if you are doing a private, person to person sale, then you are required to check their state ID. If they do not have a state ID then it is illegal to sell it to them. Most people ask to sign a bill of sale which shows the transfer just in case the gun is to be used in a crime. Other people show their concealed carry license because that usually proves you are legally ok to carry. If you sell to someone and they use that gun in a crime or something you are not legally responsible for that. And there is no jail time or prison time since you didn’t act with malice or evil intent. Edit: it’s also legal to sell to out of state if done through an FFL (federal firearm license). That’s how online purchases happen. It’s sold to you but shipped to the FFL who does all the background info. So if you went to another state you’d have to purchase through an FFL so they have the capability to run background checks nationally.

@ShmuckCanuck You understand how the US works,right? It’s like 50 different countries with their own cultures and laws. When you say ‘we’ are telling you how to live (which I highly doubt) you must mean only certain gov officials. If you don’t like it happening to you then why would you do it to someone else? And what does American exceptionalism have to do with you? We can say what we want in our own homes and country. Why would that bother you? Nice logic dude…
