Matthew Caughey Thank god I get to choose what I drive instead of someone else telling me what I need. Full-size trucks offer something similar to what full-size cars used to offer, SIZE. Trucks and. Full-size SUVs have replaced the family sedan/wagon as the vehicle of choice for families. There is nothing wrong with this. As for these small pickups, Non of these trucks would pass safety regulations now. We can’t have simple, bare bone, no frills vehicles because of these regulations. I don’t know how the US has more stringent rules but I’d say it’s about time the auto manufacturers give Uncle Sam the middle finger and let the consumers decide what they want like a small, simple truck with an efficient Diesel engine without all the def garbage and ultra low sulfur non sense so it will actually get 50mpg and last a couple hundred thousand miles.

Scott Wilson And be surrounded by cheap GM plastic? No thanks. You Chevy fanboys were just embarrassed because Ford showed you what a similar cubic inch Mustang could do and it hurt your LS1 feelings

Brandon Petroski Hey! I don’t have a huge ego

666dynomax There are tons of Fords from that ‘vintage’ still driving around and still at the worksite. You are more likely to see what you want. If you’re more interested in corvettes, suddenly you’ll notice there are a lot of corvettes around.
9
Robert Robinson Which 5.4 are you talking about? Or did you even know that there were different versions?
5
jon doe Saying things like this isn’t helpful. Not everyone can make $150K and you don’t know his circumstances. I guess I’m politely saying, fuck off

Tall-Paul 1990 What a stupid comment. Any other jealousies you want to air on YouTube?
3
1320vids You’re comparing the corvette to the mustang. Compare the vette to the GT. Sure, the SS Camaro was cheaper and had somewhat similar acceleration numbers but it could in no way compete with the R on a track. You Chevy boys always like to compare the 350 to the 302 or 4.6 but when Ford puts a similar sized engine in their Mustang then you boys suddenly compare it to the Vette. I was around back then and I remember the shame and sting of that first generation 4.6 2V. It was a hard pill to swallow.

David S. I rarely see anything from Japan on the road from that era. When I do they are all rusted out piles of shit. I see way more domestics from that era than anything. We get it, Japan was making quality cars STARTING around this time.
3
I would be interested in a new T-Bird. Based on the Mustang platform with similar outer dimensions and more interior room. Base engine could be an NA 2.7 with optional engines starting at the 2.7 ecoboost all the way up to the 6.2.
3
Shizzy Snorlax I hated this body style. As soon as they came out it made my Bronco look dated. I was always a little jealous of those sleek lines
3
I thought these were great looking when they debuted. I still think they look good. GM had some really cool engines. The quad 4 had a lot of power.

ruen125 It was such a royal shame. Pontiac finally got the Fiero right and then it was killed. For being a car parts bin car, it was still something special. Pontiac deserved a better parent company. I wish they could have gone independent or maybe got bought out by another company. I know this is blasphemy but imagine a trans am based on the Mustang platform with Pontiac styling cues
3
Did I hear that right? The LTD received the fuel injected 5.0 and the mustang wouldn’t get fuel injection until ‘86
3
Zach Alt Is that why the f body was cancelled in 02? Ford just showed the world, again, if they put similar cubic inches in the mustang the Camaro couldn’t compete
2
Oh man, my SR-71 would destroy all these cars but only up in the air... fucking Chevtards
2
Garryd Hintz Because the Ford and Chevy didn’t have 4 low? I used to wheel all over Moab in my full-size Bronco and never had any issues keeping up with the Jeeps and 4-Runners that my buddies had. Other than a better ride and at times, better traction, the Ford did great. No need to hate on other brands
2
Take the red pill And then complain about the gap getting larger
2
David Lane I know your comment was 3 years ago but just in case, the 99-04 Mustangs were considered ‘new edge’ and the 94-98 were SN-95.
2
Do you still have it?

E Meyer Works for me

I agree but you have to look at it from Fords perspective. By the 90s, Ford was outselling the Fbody twins by such a large margins it didn’t make sense for them to put bigger engines into the mustangs. More V6 mustangs were sold than V8s. SVT was cooking up an awesome T-Bird but it was scrapped because the money wasn’t there due to low sales. Ford isn’t really “late to the dance” they just hold back their performance parts for their race customers. They always have. Ford is more interested in selling cars and that’s fine because it has created such a huge aftermarket for their vehicles. If I’m not mistaken, Ford did come out with the Shelby Mustang that beat the Z-28. It was like that in 95 and 2000 with the ultra low production R mustangs. They did that back in the 60s too. Mopar was selling the terrible for the street 426 hemi and Ford put the 427 in a few cars but they were not good for normal driving and required a lot of tuning. They would offer the 427 SOHC over the counter in the parts division but they didn’t put it in their production cars. And the 3.7 V6 should have stayed in the Mustang as a base engine. There is so much potential in that engine and I would have loved to see a performance version of that car from the factory.

I miss the visibility in these old cars
2
The Aerostar was the best. It was built on a truck frame and Ford kept it around until 97. It was a better work horse than a minivan. A few years after this review, Ford would bring out an actual minivan based on a front wheel drive platform and it was a good little people hauler.
2
It’s a great looking car. I didn’t realize these were a 2+2 configuration
2
Chris Cornelius Maybe you weren’t alive back then or driving cars but the 80s were a vast improvement over the 70s in quality. It’s easy to look back 30 plus years and criticize but if you didn’t live it you don’t understand
2
Donald Trump is Ghetto Trash That escalated quickly. I dare you to look up Trumps actual track record for race relations. Everything else you said is ignorant. Look out buddy, them KKK members are gonna getcha. All 5000 of them.
2
jester Awesome. I’ve always wanted an ‘86. Especially after the 5.0 craze was in full swing and everyone was looking for 87-93 mustangs.
2
jester I can’t fault you for buying a vette. I broke down and bought a Firebird because I’ve always wanted a 4th gen. It’s been the absolute worst car I have ever owned but I still enjoy the hell outta her.
2
Typical Ford fan brings fewer cubic inches to a drag race and leaves with the trophy.

The Aero birds are awesome!
1
TheMattc999 Lucky you! The best way to say good bye to the fox Mustang was giving us the Cobra. The SN-95 is one of my favorites but those 93 Cobras are beautiful
1
tin pin The 4.6 is a “Triton” engine. The 2,3 and 4 valve engines are all awesome engines. When they came out they made more power than the OHV engines that they replaced
1
Wesley Pickett Do you know why that actually happened? Or do your nuts tingle when you hear anything bad about Ford? I take it that you don’t know much about the actual history of the V10 and why it stuck around so long. It’s a solid and reliable engine. I’m not sure if you’re a Chevy or Mopar fanboy but please enlighten us Ford guys on the reliability of the DOD 5.3 and the new hemi’s with all their cam troubles.

300 I6?

Nooo, keep that wonderful Windsor in there.

Chad Harmon Is 20 years not enough time?

Deuce - What 5.7 5 speed cars? GM didn’t offer a manual with the 350. The Mustang was faster until the LT1 showed up. They still gave those Fbodies hell. The 4.6 2V couldn’t hang with the either the LT1 or LS1. The Cobra Mustangs did a lot better and when people starting adding power adders they did fine. It really wasn’t until the Terminator was released that Ford shifted the power balance back to the Blue Oval. But still, back in the 90s I would rather have bought a Mustang with the 4.6 2V and drive it everyday than buy an Fbody and fix it everyday.
1
alexander1485 Realty? The Fbody twins? The G bodies?
1
@scottwilson1251 The 350 put out maybe 305 at its peak in those years. The Cobra R was every bit as superior to the Fbody as the GT is to the Vette. Cry harder bud because Ford made a superior race car in the Cobra R.
1
This is great!
1
They should have put the SHO engine in the T-Bird
1
Scott Wilson Not as cool as the Saleen Mustangs but this was a Factory Mustang. GM took one look at this and cancelled the Fbody immediately
1
Didn’t Plymouth also have a Suburban in the 50’s?
1
Valkyry5 Unfortunately, that’s been my experience with GM. You probably made the right decision to go foreign as a great number of people did. I went the other way and stuck to Ford
1
This isn’t a comparison video to see which truck is the best. Notice that it was a single cab, an extended cab and a crew cab? Did you notice that it was a V10, V8 and Diesel too. This was just a video about all the different options and what the brands offer in general. Good lord
1
zoom evolution I see all of them. Even some pathfinders
1
Latnlvr I see them around. Back in the day they were pretty good cars and much cooler than their Chevy counterparts
1
Imagine if Ford just kept updating the Taurus with better interiors and sheet metal instead of the ballon made of ovals that we got in ‘96? The Taurus would have kept being a top seller and not a fleet queen
1
If Pontiac would have stuck around they had plans to make it a more rear wheel drive format. They were going to base the new Pontiac’s on Cadillac platforms. It would have been sweet. They’ve also talked about bringing back the Firebird under the Buick nameplate.
