  2. LBJ’s intention wasn’t to ruin the black nuclear family. His idea for “the great society” was a copy of FDR’s and it was black centric. The getting them to vote for them was giving them welfare and they would vote D because of the free stuff. And they have. The break up of the family was an unintended consequence.
