GM paid back 21 billion of the 43 billion it received. And the gov still owns 32% GM stock. Not sure how good you are at math but you’re not even close. Chrysler took 9.8 billion and has already paid it back. Ford did not file for bankruptcy and took the loan from Obama because Obama wanted EV cars by 2015 and Ford couldn’t meet that mandate from the government without the governments help. Nice try

  7. I love how people still believe the lie Toyota circulated about the mats being the issue. I love Ford but you probably could have put a few more models in here. The focus debacle with the auto trans. The engineers said it was garbage but due to cost they went ahead with it anyways. The Explorer issue was known before the first one rolled off the assembly line. They had designs to widen the body to make it more stable but again due to costs they went ahead with it. They finally widened the explorer in ‘02. The original Mustang had the same issue as the Pinto but nobody talks about that. Each manufacturer has similar stories that get forgotten over time

  8. Brandon Jones You realize COBRA. The GT wasn’t that competitive speed wise in the 90’s stock for stock. But GTFO if you think the Mustang wasn’t faster until 2011. In 95 there was the Cobra R with the 351 W. 96-98 had the 4V 4.6 motor. Then the next Cobra R came out with the 5.4 4V and then there were Terminators. So FO with that nonsense and that doesn’t even touch all the modified cars.

  23. 4 Barrels I think it’s a combination. We forget the SAE rating change from 71 to 72 and then the unleaded fuel, the lower compressions to meet emissions and then all of the emissions plumbing really changed the horsepower output. Compression can really have an impact

  32. Close. The 63 Z11 impala came before the thunderbolt. It had a 427 making about 500hp. The max wedge (non hemi) light weight Mopars came out in 63 too. Although their numbers are fairly low.
