I know that we make the south out to be horrible because of the slavery issue but they had concerns of the growing federal government. That was a big moment in history when the US gov became very large and dominant versus the states

  25.  @jvlovesk  Utah is in a weird position. Since 2000, the population has nearly doubled and a large portion of that is mostly Californians moving in. The Salt Lake City metro is liberal/progressive and the rest of the state is like 95% red. Historically, UT has voted like 80% for republican presidents. This last election was 60/40. In about 15 years, the state will be like any other liberal run state. Meaning high crime in the major cities and low crime and safe everywhere else.

  31.  @im2tweaked  I’m not attacking you (just to be clear). I think this is an interesting discussion. Calling something a baby isn’t similar to corruption or breaking the law. I think it would be akin to saying fingers instead of flanges. Baby isn’t a medical term either. They are infants to toddlers but parents call their children babies even up to adulthood. It doesn’t make it wrong. While you are correct in your medical terminology, you are incorrect in trying to tell others how to they should refer to something. Plus, parasite isn’t quite appropriate since it’s not really an alien organism attaching to the host. And I’m not here as pro or anti abortion.

Now we have had a few generations indoctrinated children and stepping over the rights of other Americans because they want everyone to think the way they do. Teachers have to remember that they are government agents and must remain politically neutral as to not violate others rights.

It doesn’t matter how many times you use a word, it doesn’t make it true. Plus, this is about what happened in this video. A group threatening violence (again) to influence politics. By deflecting, it’s usually an indicator of losing.

  49.  @im2tweaked  Is it a “you issue” though? People use the word baby all throughout the pregnancy. If it’s in common parlance then doesn’t it mean that it is correct? When a pregnant woman goes to her doctor they both refer to it as the baby. It’s “how’s the baby?” Or the baby’s heart beat. I have never heard a doctor or family ask how is the fetus. Baby has emotional baggage attached while fetus doesn’t. So it is much easier to refer to aborted offspring as a fetus instead of baby. And no one has ever referred to offspring of any species as a parasite to the mother. Again, this is just another way to detach the emotion from the term.
