@vladimirgarduno1492 Heroes? Patriots? Selfless? Warriors? Take your pick.

I’m more concerned about the abuse of power and how the gov kept lying to imprison an 18 yr old for obvious self defense

@maninthemiddle55 Is this why you THINK they switched? Because Nixon stole the racists from Johnson? This is getting pathetic. Just look at what’s happening today. The right wants individual rights and liberty and the left wants collectivism and group justice. This may be why the liberals and moderates are leaning more right now

@maninthemiddle55 The problem with that theory is they (meaning you) claim it happened in the 50-60’s. Not the 70’s. I don’t argue with bad faith actors who come to their enemy’s channel and trolls. FDR grew the federal government into a bloated and inefficient bureaucracy. If you want to go back to actual food stamps and work programs then maybe we could agree on that. But there is a better argument as to why generational poverty is such a problem. Not very many people argue against a safety net, especially for the elderly and sick, but what we have today is in no way what FDR had in mind for his new deal. LBJ may have created a permanent poverty class with his war of poverty. Do me a favor and read up on the founding principles of the Republican Party and why it took over the Whig party.

@maninthemiddle55 Nah

@maninthemiddle55 Like I said, I don’t argue with bad faith actors. Nothing you said is true

@maninthemiddle55 You realize that Reagan was a Democrat up until the 1950’s. His first real appearance came in ‘64. He didn’t gain ground until the mid to late 70’s and then he announced his bid for president in ‘79. His rally in Miss happened a month before he officially opened his campaign and right after the RNC in July. He was invited to speak and his advisors (Wirthlin mainly) warned against it. The criticism of his “states rights” isn’t that noteworthy since he’d been an advocate for small gov and states rights as a conservative. This has nothing to do with that Washington post BS where they tried to imply racism from Reagan to Trump. Most serious political science experts don’t take these racism claims serious. Because they are garbage and a byproduct of CRT. Reagan is old enough that he may have had racist views (I won’t argue that). Willie Horton was a killer and rapist. He was on a furlough program and Bush used that in an ad to attack the program. It’s only racist because he’s black. The idea that it lead to more racial policies or laws is at best argumentative but has not been solidly proven. All you’ve done is quote highly controversial and contentious CRT material thinking it was actual facts. No one can have a rational conversation with people like that. And you said FDR was great and won the war. You realize he died before the war ended, right? We won that war because of the efficiency of the military and mostly the navy. And Eisenhower. FDR was a sniveling bureaucrat who married his cousin and slept with his secretary.

@mikestefano3986 To me, that’s the biggest issue. We have these shallow thinkers in education where they have misrepresented history for the past 30+ years. Now we have a generation (or two) who believe what the do. It’s not only sad, it’s dangerous

@maninthemiddle55 CRT has been identified as CRT today but it’s part of critical theory. It’s not new. Let me get this straight, if you’re for states rights and smaller fed gov then you’re a racist? Yet, Reagan was a Republican while Johnson was in office trying to hold back the civil rights act? Right, it’s those pesky conservatives who are racists. Just like women’s suffrage wasn’t being held back by Wilson (another dem). Also, Trump wasn’t calling Mexicans rapists. Have you watched the entire speech? Or do you even care? That’s why you’re bad faith. And a lot of historians say FDR wasn’t the best. Maybe you don’t know about his career before being in office and how he stabbed his boss (secretary of the navy) in the back. Maybe you don’t care. Maybe you love lying, war hawking, adulterous politicians but I don’t. There are other reasons not to like these people (Reagan, Trump, Bush) but to lie about them and call them racists just because you don’t like Republicans isn’t being rational, reasonable or good faith. Now sod off
