There was a very famous (famous because it shocked the conscience of the public) incident of violence and rape and he made it seem like that was common. He also made it seem as though he was more experienced than he actually was. An in-depth analysis would take more than a YouTube comment. Are you pro Kerry or something?

I’ve down an ungodly amount of research on the ‘Vietnam conflict’ AND I’ve seen Kerry’s service record.   16.  @Elnegro..  Why are we in an economic crisis? A 20 year ‘unwinable’ war? I take it you don’t know much about foreign policy or what was actually going on in the Middle East. We don’t fight wars to wipe out populations or to take over countries. It’s amazing how quickly people parrot their favorite talking heads without knowing much (or anything) about a subject

  17.  @Elnegro..  I don’t think you understand the US budget. How about we stop funding the Mexico and give that to Israel (since you have an issue with the amount). Who is in a war of aggression? What is your understanding of the state of Israel. Do you know their history? Do you understand why they are our allies? How about we ask Pelosi to not fund her family in these bills and maybe we could use that money for Israel… I think we have a misunderstanding of what’s transpiring in the Middle East. I don’t have a problem with what Talib said in her speech. She probably believes that Israel is the terrorist organization instead of just being on the defensive. She quoted other organizations summation of Israel and didn’t state her own opinion. It didn’t strike me as anti-Semitic but it goes to a larger problem with this ‘squad’ where they take propaganda’s d half truths and believe them because it fits their agenda.

  18.  @Elnegro..  Except we are not talking about vehicles. And we have laws regarding vehicle abandonment so the analogy doesn’t apply. Do you know when, how and why Israel was formed? Do you know who (and how many) were in that area to begin with? You said they are in a war of aggression yet they haven’t expanded their borders. The question of funding other countries applies because you haven’t asked to stop that money. That’s why people bring it up. But, like someone else stated, this isn’t like throwing money away on South America. We get some return from funding the defense of Israel. My issue with your comments come from what you are saying about Israel not necessarily the money.

  22.  @pinkybliss6215  Really? Let’s start with the squad led by AOC. That’s where this started. The police do not need more training. They need higher standards. It’s similar to trying to train an adult chimp to do calculus and not bite your face off. And everything you listed about Domestics and traffic stops, cops had been doing those for decades without too much trouble but suddenly they’re killing everyone (except the actual numbers say differently)? They already spend way too much time in training. Higher better people and we’ll have fewer problems.

Cops are required to get certified at an academy for 9 months. That every day for 9 months and then they are required to have so many training hours every year. That includes weapon proficiency. They are trained on all these things yet they continue to use excessive force. It’s in the quality of officer and not the quality of training. I have this suspicion that you are skimming my comment and only focusing on what contradicts your set beliefs. Stop acting like you have this special knowledge of something because of physical characteristics versus actual scientific research and experience

  24.  @pinkybliss6215  That may be true in Cali but in other states it is not. You can take a two week course and be a barber. Some places require 6 weeks. It’s relative. There are federal standard for LE (mostly). And yea, in a country of about 350 million people with about 600K officers, you can find some cop somewhere having an interaction with another human that could be argued was bad. What’s interesting is that the right was asking for police reform for a long time just like the left. Then George Floyd happened. And our positions could finally meet and we could come together on an issue. Which we did initially but one side took it racial while the other side was looking at it as a whole. Then the arguments began and sides were once again drawn and nothing of value transpired. We do need reform but I don’t think the type of reform you want works. How many human experiments do we need before we understand that human interaction goes wrong when one side has all the power? Again, training a new hire (who doesn’t have the intellectual tools) to act a certain way will fail most of the time. That’s why I say we need to hire better people to be officers. Restrict their authority and hold them accountable for bad acts. I’ll bet that both sides would be happy with those results. Or would you rather we abolish the police? We cannot have it both ways. We cannot have a bunch of social workers running around enforcing law and fighting crime. The evidence shows that criminals don’t require special training and special social skills to manipulate people and over power weaker people. Look up arrest stats and interview the cops who work the tougher crimes and then get back to me.

  25.  @pinkybliss6215  That’s a lonely position to take. The system isn’t meant to be confusing but it depends on which system you’re referring to. Maybe some politicians want the police to be feared by the general public but I don’t think that’s an honest position to hold. I do think that a tiny part of law enforcement is for the criminal to fear the police so they refrain from breaking the law altogether. When you say 50 years ago, was there an event that could have caused this change? I know that policing has changed over time from a cop on the beat to community policing to more sophisticated policing. The most important thing to remember is that we are dealing with human beings. There will always be some form of corruption at some level because that is just how humans are

But it wasn’t just a physical wall that Trump was building. It was about supporting the border patrol and finding them properly. It was about enforcing current laws and strengthening our border. But that’s just the wall. Look at the other policies. It’s too much to add in a comment section. Just be educated in your critiques. And I don’t like Trump. I didn’t like him as a dem in the 80’s. I didn’t like him when he was a buddy of the Clinton’s in the 90’s, etc
