XLT is pretty basic? I remember when it was a well equipped truck.
24
Stuffandjunk Andthings Yes. This engine was designed for their fleet/commercial division. I for one am glad they went this route even if it appears boring to the average joe. This engine wasn’t designed to ‘light the world on fire’ with gaudy numbers. It’s going to be a solid reliable choice for commercial applications and should provide dependable power and long service life. Not everything is a dick measuring contest

nicholas b Yes Nicholas, the government is here to save us from ourselves
7
The 385 engine series is magnificent.
6
Patrick Rich Bullshit. Our 94 K3500 with the 454 is lucky to get 12 on the hwy unloaded. It’s the same story as the guy that got a million miles on his truck with original tires and only changed the oil twice. Complete horseshit
6
Cody Parker Haha. I had an ‘86 Lariat. 460 4sp and the options were power windows and locks with a nice velour bench seat. I miss that old girl...
4
They did it right! Thank you Ford. I’ve been waiting since ‘96
3
CamaroAmx And I’ve seen the 5.3 detonate at 42K. What’s your point?
3
CamaroAmx What’s your engine of choice then? Do you think the 3.5 Ecoboost is the same 3.5 that came in the Edge but with a turbo? The 3.5 ECO has been a solid power plant for the F150. But it is not an HD engine. Ford isn’t putting it in their HD trucks for a reason. It’s solid for its application though. If you are here to just be anti-Ford then it doesn’t matter what FoMoCo does since you’ll just pick whatever GM is doing.
3
I remember those days. Getting to 300hp was seen as something. I still love those cars though.
3
AC is that you?
3
Adam Lindsay They had Lariat for the 3/4 and up and Eddie Bauer for the 150 and Bronco. But yeah, the XLT was a pretty well equipped truck back then.
3
Jeep continues to be on top of the most unreliable vehicles list. 90% of Wranglers don’t go off road.
2
Will we see Luvs and D50s? I’d prefer a 2.5 or 2.0 non turbo with a manual.
2
Torino or Fairlane?
2
Koal Pierce And when the Bronco returns it will be: Ford-2 Jeep-0
2
The charger had to constantly slow down so that they could keep the chase close. They didn’t have that issue with the 428 galaxy but that 390 struggled to keep up
2
@AStanton1966 Yep. Years ago I watched a making of the movie and that’s what they said happened on set. The 390 wasn’t as fast as the 440. I’m not trying to knock the FE/390/Ford or Mustang. It is what it is.
2
Ram is taking it to the next level. C’mon Chevy, get it together or you’ll lose that #2 spot permanently
2
Man I miss my 86 F250. 460 4speed. Sure, I’d get 6-8 mpg but damn it was a great truck
2
Hal 1000 Funny cuz the 4.6 is considered one of the most durable engines. Plus, this vid is about Nissan and not your preferred brand so relax
2
Connor Hendricks You’re confused. It’s less efficient and more costly but it would be more powerful. The other factor we are not looking at but manufacturers have to is MPG. I’d prefer an ecoboost 5.0 but to mass produce a twin turbo charged 5.0 is impractical especially from a fuel efficiency standpoint not to mention the other parts that would have to be overbuilt to keep that engine reliable from a mass production standpoint. It’s a cost/regulation game and not just a pure power one. If the only measurement was power then absolutely displacement, in any application, wins.
2
Man those Titans look good
2
youngblood23rb And with an MRSP of $60K, I don’t think anything beats it
2
Did you guys think it was going to be 430 hp and 475 ft/lbs at the wheels?
1
Rams keep getting better and better
1
Cliff Lee I wouldn’t mind a lightning Ranger edition, either
1
The big boy Bronco from the 60’s? What? The Bronco was based on the F-150 chassis from 78-79 and from 80-96. The 66-77 isn’t considered a full-size big boy Bronco.
1
I thought this was a Nissan video and not an anti-Ford video...?
1
The movie version Bronco, from Rampage, was the old 2004 concept vehicle that Ford teased us with
1
I can remember way back in the day when it was even higher. And Ford usually had a little more loss with their autos and rear axles. 17% loss seems fantastic especially on an HD truck.
1
@americantrucknation4891 That’s crazy. I still remember wanting an Eddie Bauer edition because it was top of the line back in the day.
1
GyroPyro12 Agreed. Maybe I’m getting old but my stock Formula has enough power for me
1
GyroPyro12 Nothing wrong with that
1
Luscious3174 Tremor?
1
ripfletching That’s why they call them pony cars, after the one that started it all
1
Anybody else find it ironic that the original Bullet Mustang was intentionally a stripped down model so a detective could afford owning one on a meager salary? Maybe Ford should bring back the GTS model for some of us that are rolling in fat stacks
1
I know this new Chev has received a lot of hate but GD I think they are good lookin’
1
Wow. 3.0 diesel or ecoboost are both great ideas
1
Connor Hendricks The replacement for displacement IS forced induction. It always has been.
1
Jess Roberts I don’t remember but my 97 K1500 with the 5.7 was lucky to get 15 combined unloaded. Hell, my Formula gets 18.
1
I thought they kept saying ‘smut pack.’ I’m actually kinda disappointed now
1
pduffy83usa Yes! I thought I was the only one that wanted the 2.7. Even as a base non turbo engine I would still be happy
