@matthewharris8819 I doubt it’s every time but I’m sure there are some dramatic people out there. Canceling someone is trying to ruin their life and campaigning against them to end their job/career not just disagreeing

It’s crazy that these two are talking about it. This cop has zero chance of standing up against Burr and Rogan saying he’s a monster. Most people were upset about the police brutality and not concerned about the color of anyone’s skin. And then it turned into a racial narrative and hasn’t stopped. It’s tragic that the lie spread across the nation before the truth even got its shoes on.

That guys terrible..right? Oh Bill, what happened to you?

Sky Hawk Sarcasm is the language of idiots. People weren’t so upset about Colin’s kneeling as they were about the message. There were many points of view about it but not all of it was about the flag. Here was a millionaire raised by white folks lashing out against white folks for alleged police racism. A lot of his message could and was debunked by stats and studies. Feel free to look them up but there was a lot of complaining by the black community of being a victim of racism for just getting stopped by the police for a traffic violation. Just being stopped was the racist part. So some of us disagreed with his message not the kneeling part.

@Volrath Yes there still is racism among people but the message was blacks were being targeted and killed openly for being black but when you took it case by case there was only a few questionable cases most and I mean like 99% of the cases were justified shootings. The other issue was blacks saying they were pulled over for being black but again most of that came to be BS too since most of the time officers didn’t know who they were pulling over. There was a study done on this. I think it was Jersey that put in traffic cameras because blacks were calling racism by receiving more tickets and then the cameras were put in to take out any bias and the tickets received by blacks were the same. The message is now that white America is and always has been racist and blacks are victims all the time everywhere but that isn’t true. This isn’t new.

@matthewharris8819 I don’t think disagreeing with a point of view is ‘canceling’ someone.

@matthewharris8819 Someone with a national spotlight says or does something others don’t agree with will get push back. I wouldn’t agree with harassment or death threats but are you upset that folks on the right disagreed with Colin’s stance? How about when someone disagrees with the left on issues? When it’s not a professional athlete it’s just the guy/gal that works in accounting? Is it okay to launch a campaign against them and harass them or send them death threats? There’s a little bit of a difference in status and the ability to fight back in those two examples and I think that is the issue the right is having with cancel culture. Or am I way off? Or is it different for Colin because of his mixed race background?

@matthewharris8819 What did Gina do? I just heard she was fired. Colin wasn’t black balled from the NFL. But I see what you’re getting at. I hadn’t heard of a campaign to get Colin fired or black balled. People were upset and they have a right to be but maybe I’ll have to look back at that whole thing because I don’t remember people wanting him fired or canceled or dead. Is there a little bit of a difference in the message though? One is anti America and the other was something about Trump or something? Honestly, I don’t really care. My concern is that people are being targeted for ‘wrong think’ and it’s just like the religious right decades ago that would censor people or cancel them because of ‘wrong think’. If your beliefs or thoughts are not in line with this new way then it’s an issue. It shouldn’t matter whether I offend Jesus or Jenner? I’m entitled to my own thoughts.

Except that’s exactly what they did with the Floyd situation. Not having all the context before jumping to a conclusion would fit that definition
