My 12 year old liked it so it must be doing something right. Edit: the western take on the Natives is the “Noble Savage.” The early settlers had their own horrific personal experiences with the native tribes and they didn’t need anyone to sell the idea of how “awful” they were. This is a modern day nonsensical take. The natives were brutal and they would torture and kill the white settlers in such terrible ways that it caused the settlers to despise the natives (the only good Indian..) It was so bad that Mexico actually sponsored Americans to move to the border (Texas and New Mexico) to act like an actual human shield. We’ve got it so backwards because of modern politics it’s beyond ridiculous.

@apollomars1678 It’s not as simple as a link or a wiki article. I’d suggest reading about American history and the interactions with the native tribes. I’d start with S.C. Gwynn. His writing is palatable and then I’d follow up with his sources. I don’t 100% agree with his assessments but if you read his sources and go from there (sticking to mainly older sources for better context and appropriate analysis) you’ll have a much better understanding of the history of the USA and it’s native tribes

@apollomars1678 Nah, you’re incorrect in your assessment. I’m not going to write an essay here but you can look at the history with natives in about 3 different periods. The east was different than the west in what they experienced.
