But during the period where an abortion is permitted it doesnt feel pain, its not self sustaining, its not self aware. Thats what the determination is made by not that its not alive. A distinctive characteristic of a living organism from dead organism or non-living thing, as specifically distinguished by the capacity to grow, metabolize, respond (to stimuli), adapt, and reproduce.

Opposed to Russia that rolls in tanks to take land by force. Why shouldn't Ukraine join a group that would provide safety from a Russian threatening force?
