I doesn't come as a shock to me. Japan has a law that allows a business to sue whistle-blowers for damages. It doesn't matter if everything they say is true. Like the company dumped toxic chemicals into the water supply. If your words hurt a business they can target you. They promote the idea the business/government being viewed in a positive light as more important than truth.
