@OSTemli Wrong, Khabib's first 9-11 fights were at welterweight and mostly finishes. He would have been better at welterweight than at lightweight. He even competed at 160, 170, and 180+ pounds before his pro career, and also became the Sambo world champion... Not to mention that even GSP considers him the biggest challenge if they ever fought... Even Gaethje that trains with Usman said that nobody in the world fighting below 185 pounds can beat Khabib...

@thomasal2487 It's not like the local welterweights did any worse than the UFC fighters. People should understand that there are other fighters out there as well that don't get the chance to fight in the UFC. Khabib would have done really great at welterweight in the UFC and become the champ because he wouldn't have been small at all for that weight class... And it's not like the top welterweights actually wrestle and grapple with each other and would have challenged Khabib on that part, they all become strikers like we saw Usman vs Colby/Maia/Burns, Colby vs Usman/Maia, Burns vs Maia/Usman and etc...
