Howaboutthetruth; you wrote a article about the fight, lol. I live in europe so I had to wake up 4 am to watch the fights. I watched it in HD. But I agree with the points you made. Ortega should have thrown more elbows, changed angles and fought moving backwards, then forced max against the fence and kept trying for the takedowns. When he decided to make it a dog fight it all went downhill. He took 10 punches just to land 1 punch. He managed 1 good takedown but max controlled the fight. It was a great display of skills by max. Ortega should have adjusted more but became instead predictable. I found out that ortega had broken his nose and thumb during the fight. But having watched the fight several times and how max made him a punching bag, it should be an eye opener for ortega and his team. His defence needs much improvement at this level. Max landed 290 significant strikes which is seen in boxing matches. I think ortega broke his thumb in round 3 and the nose in round 4.

Howaboutthetruth, I just assumed that ortega broke his thumb during round 3 and the nose in round 4 based on his performance, he became sloppy with the takedown attempts and seemed like he couldn't pick up the pace. It's a bad habit to make it a dog fight if you keep getting hit on your face, you get too excited. You gotta be smart and clever. Ortega vs max rematch will not happen next, ortega got 180 days suspension by the doctors due to the damage he took. And he should not fight aldo either, the time is not right quite yet, aldo is also a great striker and his takedown defence is also amazing. Max at 155 would be good, also for his health because he walks around at about 188 pounds. It's prize fighting, I think it's great for the fighters to make millions, the ufc is to be blamed for ruining the 155 division in his absence, they could have stripped him a long time ago and conor could have retired already or fought sooner, but I have a feeling that conor vs max 2 will happen next year. Khabib vs tony must happen next year.
