Best case for Rob would be if Alex beats Adesanya and then the rematch would happen next year between them while Costa who has broken his hand also returns next year for a title contender fight against Rob in Australia for the winner of Adesanya vs Alex 2... But MMA is extremely unpredictable...

@EugS78 Rob already beaten everyone in top 5 except for Costa and Alex... So, either Rob gonna have a rematch against Jared, Brunson or Vettori, or he is gonna fight Costa who is ranked number 6... If Adesanya loses against Alex, he is gonna get a rematch for sure, which would leave the division waiting anyway...

@isaiah1931 Yes, he still has a fight left on his contract. Think Whittaker would win a one sided decision against Costa, but since Costa isn't afraid of being aggressive and taking chances, it might be a really fun fight. Have noticed that Whittaker after losing to Adesanya a few years ago only has won decisions upon his return, which has made him more controlled during his aggressive approach and a safer fighter. I can understand that after the two Romero wars and how the first Adesanya fight went since he was too reckless that night, which was weird in hindsight...
