I have watched the Islam vs Alex fight 8 times now and had Islam winning every single time. It wasn't a boxing or a kickboxing fight, simply MMA. And Islam needs to get Khabib back since his corner did an awful job and couldn't advice him on anything. Even during round 4 when he had Alex'back right to his corner, they all watched quietly when Khabib clearly would have told him what to do.

Firaz noticing the details to the opening sequence of Khabib vs Conor where Khabib circles halfway throughout the octagon and goes for the takedowns when Conor is controlling the distance, just shows Firaz' superb observation and Khabib's brilliant fight IQ. Don't think Khabib got even hurt against Dustin and Johnson because his defensive abilities were always somewhat awkward where he rolled with the punches moving sideways while moving backwards much similar to Cain's fighting style, which also influenced Khabib's style a lot. Anyway, Khabib's granite chin, superb cardio and high fight IQ was really something unique. He even makes the gameplans for most if his fighters according to Islam even though he does no longer do any corner work.

Islam vs GSP would have been an epic matchup 🎉🎉🎉

No need for a rematch with ben and robbie next, it was a tight choke, let's move on, ben needs to fight someone else next.

I actually think that Firas became extremely happy every time he mentioned Khabib. Maybe he sees a lot of similarities between GSP and Islam as well.

I like it how Firas becomes happy whenever speaking about Khabib. Gotta get him on this show or train with him one day.

Getting knocked out cold in the mid 30's is just completely different. Not to mention that getting knocked out cold is like waking up from a coma for a fighter. If Usman wins, it would be one of the best comebacks.

@Noah_Banyas That's a 50/50 fight. Abdulmanap studied GSP considering that it was his favorite fighter and made Islam like an advanced version of GSP. They both have a lot in common when it comes to striking, using judo for throws, wrestling/grappling base to win fights, exploiting half guard and full guard positions for domination and top control to drown their opponents along with a high fight IQ display every single time. Who do you think would have won?

Thompson is 40 and got ko'd by Pettis but never submitted until he fought Shavkat. Also, the welterweight division has somewhat been weak and overrated for some time. Neither Usman, Colby and Edwards have any clue about jiu jitsu. And the same fighters have gotten undeserved title shots mostly. No new contenders have gotten title shots for almost the last 5 years, which I mean is someone not named Masvidal and Colby...

I think both Islam and Khabib would beat GSP. MMA has evolved too much throughout the years. Khabib's striking is better than GSP as well because he hasn't been cut or bled during 25+ minutes of striking in 29 fights. His jab, defensive abilities and setups were superb.

@shockedone6472 ?!? Chandler's wrestling is overrated. He can't keep someone down for long and got submitted by Dustin who hasn't submitted anyone in 11-12 years if I remember it correctly... Islam would run through him.

Edwards attacks the lower body in an ortodox stance and the upper body in a southpaw stance. His bad habit is that he loses balance when moving backwards but he has never been finished yet. Colby already fought in an ortodox stance against Masvidal where his right hand proved to be stronger but he changed back to southpaw again during the takedowns. Colby's bad habit is getting easily hit by a left hook.

Both have many similarities but I think Islam is technically better and MMA has evolved too much...

@creamofthecrop5868 Nope. Tyson fought a lot of 6.5-6.8 fighters in the amateurs and a lot of 6.4-6.6 fighters in the pros. Jose Ribalta 6.6, Tony Tucker 6.5, Tyrell Biggs 6.6, Sammy Scaff 6.6, Alfonso Ratliff 6.5, and the list goes on. Wilder is 6.7 but he doesn't use his height well and he is no close to the skill level as Tyson, Tyson would push the pace easily and get inside without any difficulties.

Alex on his YouTube channel has said that he is gonna move up to 205. Should have asked for a trilogy first because it makes a lot of sense. Why even give Adesanya a rematch when Alex could have gotten a title shot at 205 as the champ and then vacated the 185 belt if he had won...?!?
1
@teacherangry121 That's correct but Alex getting a rematch against Adesanya would benefit his career and bank account, and it would have been a shorter road towards the belt at 205. Almost everyone at 205 hit much harder than Adesanya and Alex isn't defensive solid as Adesanya.

Usman didn't beat up Colby badly... What they're talking about? The first fight was 2-2 going into round 5, and I thought he won 3 rounds in the rematch...

@m9oxo What?!? Who have the names I mentioned even submitted? Edwards wasn't even active and they took him out of the rankings in 2020-2021. Everyone beating Nate has gotten a title shot for the last several years and Nate has never even been ranked at 170. Why didn't Usman fight others in top 10 instead of fighting Masvidal and Colby twice during his title reign? You do realize that the fighters protect their rankings at 170 by not fighting any new contenders and the entire ranking system at 170 is simply lame at this point. Belal not even getting a title shot yet should give you all the answers you need. The UFC clearly favors fighters and the welterweight division also sucks for the most time except for a few fighters. Garry is already inside top 10 at the age of 26 and Chiesa is also there somewhere. Most of the welterweights are one dimensional and can't even be consistent in their performances...

Tony is not an easy fight at all, tony is the only one that can give khabib trouble even though I think khabib would beat him. Max got dustin in a d'arche choke at the end of round 4. Khabib gonna maul dustin.

Masvidal vs Conor is a 50/50 fight, if Conor doesn't quit he could win that fight.

Tyson in the 80s was like a machine that threw combination punches from all angles and constantly moved his head. He would be champ in any era for sure. He would have too high pace for Wilder, it would be similar to Tyson vs Jose Ribalta.

@divine7223 Yes, if Usman wins it would be one of the best comebacks. I would compare it to Tony winning a belt after the Gaethje fight, which was something that never happened. This was a career ending loss for Usman because it's the worst way to lose.
1
@andrejtadic3088 One of the best comebacks at welterweight for sure after such a devastating loss if Usman wins. Fighters change easily and decline badly after getting knocked out cold. Usman isn't exactly in his early 20's anymore.

Plessis didn't land the bigger shots. Literally missed or Strickland blocked 70% of his strikes. Plessis' left eye closed in round 2. Round 1 wasn't even close, lol.
