  1. Singapore is a very interesting system, they have universal coverage AND a free market. People get covered through a mix of insurance, either from work, from the government, or privately purchased, so I guess it's not pure single-payer but there is a public option. They also have a free market for drugs and doctors. Singapore gets better outcomes at 1/5th the cost in the US.
