There are inherent cognitive and motivational differences in men and women, STATISTICALLY. However this difference is not in true for a given man or woman. The guy made this point rather strongly, it is correct, and it is google's main failing. They can't tell the difference between a person and a statistic.

The basic problem is nobody reads W. E. Deming. Anyone who tries to use stats to manage a workforce will screw up unless they do. This guy turned "Made in Japan" from a mark of junk to a symbol of world leading quality, then he taught most of the world's manufacturing how to do it. Example: measure productivity, and reward above average workers; common sense, right? Also a recipe for disaster and lower productivity. Google is doing something analogous to this in their quest for diversity.

it's not even long, and it's kinda interesting.

when you slap a child's hand, do you read what he wrote first?

Damore's facts were ok on biology, but spot-on as far as how google uses group statistics to screw up their work force. idk about leftist ideology, rightist ideology also suppresses speech when it gets enough power. It's treating people like stats.

i think comparing conservatives to hippies is more accurate. both were / are reviled by the mainstream press culture.

There is no difference in g, generalized intelligence, among men and women, but they do have different strengths ON AVERAGE. These are not always what we think. Like, women are better at mathematical calculations and men better at math word problem solving. ON AVERAGE. I think the memo's main point was not to confuse an average with a real person. I'm not saying you or Sam do, but google does.
