  1. Open borders is an ideal. There's no way we can have open borders now, but when I was a kid the border with Canada was open. You could drive both ways without stopping. As an ideal, it is the right direction to go. In the meantime we may have to make the borders more secure. Bottom line, I support him because Johnson was practical as governor. TPP and open-borders-tomorrow would be horrible -- but I trust him to avoid horrible things far more than the other two candied dates.

  2. Johnson could pander by saying "TPP is evil" but instead he is honest, 'i don't know it well, it seems ok.' Who else would admit they haven't studied it, and would have an open mind? That's why he worked out well as gov, he talked openly and kept an open mind.
