@harrynac6017 lol good point. Even killing prime stags has zero effect on a deer population. If this is population control, it needs a class in biology.

i agree, we should treat food as an essential industry even if we could get by on dandelions, which are delicious

that would be like dracula passing laws against sharp teeth

@rv6amark It's likely that the Navajo nation got some early cases, and like anywhere that got early cases, they had an explosion before they could react. The most likely super-infection sites would be churches, groceries, gas stations and casinos. (Navajo doesn't have casinos, but they may work there and come home for the weekends). I doubt that alcohol is related. It's probably not a question of vulnerability, but early exposure of the population before lockdown.

@JB-ym4up In my area we don't really have partisan idiots of either type. Yes, I am in the US of A. We have a few, but most people are practical. I will not say where I am; don't want to start a stampede.

@hollyhocks7360 I agree with both sides. It's time to STOP just thinking "stay at home" and "lockdown." It's NOT time to just go back to normal! Smart should be the new Don't.

Smartly, yes. We opened up the local state park/ lake. I wish all the dumbasses would wear masks though in the local grocery. The employees are the worst. So maybe we should keep the lockdown for people who don't wear masks.

Andrew Ongais I agree. R0 and "spread rate" are the same thing. R0 is the number of new infections caused by an average infection.

We tend to forget the diversity among viruses. Hep is as different from Corona as a frog is from a pea plant. Hep c is a positive sense RNA virus; coronaviruses are negative sense. The positive and negative mean they are not related, and one cannot infer anything from the other.

@mail2vw There are vaccines for two coronaviruses. The things you list are not coronaviruses.

idk how stems cells would help. You may be thinking of something else?

@Rantandreason genetically, there are ~ 15 groups in the human species: 1 outside Africa, and 14 inside Africa. So good luck getting people to use a rational classification based on genetics lol.

Are Korea and Taiwan just letting everyone do whatever they want now? No more masks, no tracking, no testing?? I don't think that's true...
