"Both adults and children should take one dose of hydroxychloroquine per week... Shall I stop there? This is not the same treatment, though it's the same drug. "The weekly dosage for adults is 310mg base (400mg salt)." (Compared to 200 to 400 mg per DAY vs Covid, right?)

yes, at about 1/10th the dosage, and with some serious side effects in some people. some people thought it contributed to suicides

it can send you for a spin. some people avoid it. It's safer than malaria, but that does not mean it's chicken soup. ask around

Chloroquine is not something to mess with. I traveled to India in the 1980s, and met with many travelers taking it. It can mess with your stomach, liver, and mind. Some people get suicidal on it. It's not a toy. Why emphasize that... to save lives maybe... compassion, experience, common sense...

The dose for malaria is about 1/10th the COVID dose. (Allan said so, and I came up with the same estimate based on this CDC source, https://www.cdc.gov/malaria/resources/pdf/fsp/drugs/hydroxychloroquine.pdf) I will add two more reconsiliations: 1. there are only a few small areas where it's used today, as malaria has evolved resistance. (see the same source) 2. chloroquine is famous for nasty side effects among travelers who use it. i didn't even take it when I was in India, due to that and other factors such as being in low risk areas.

@NJ-wb1cz right. there are some chronic side effects of correct use, and there are other side effects that occur from acute overdose.

Show me one double-blind study for anything related to COVID. They don't exist. Compassion has trumped science.

The new dose is 10x the old dose. There have always been side effects for some people on chloroquine even at that super low, once a week dose; ask any trekker or world traveler.

interesting! he also might have had recurrent malaria.

How many OD's have there been from it? We use many things that are very dangerous. Cars, for example.
