Dr. Campbell trolled and came up with a lot of people who want to vent and complain. . That's nice for you all. For people who want a data driven analysis, it's upsetting. Ok, breath... tranquility now... tranquility now...

No no no no no. There was no Thanksgiving surge detectable in the data -- look at it! So why would there be a surge after the December holidays? TG is the biggest travel holiday of the year, traditionally. . Look. At. The. Data. before going off the rails on predictions. It may ease the blood pressure as well as lead to more accurate, and tempered, prognostications. . Thanks for the wonderful program all these months. Big fan.

Let this be a lesson to not let emotion take over the brain. It's ok to vent but vent, and THEN record. . Poor guy. He is so good and so smart. But 150m people are not traveling this Xmas, unless travel includes walking to the fridge.

It is a tough bug! . It's the 3rd wave in the US. . Universities have done very well, much better than the country. . Most of our schools have been closed through the fall, but that depends on the state.
2
Which is why every state in the US has had it's waves. And Europe, and UK, and Latin America. . What we need to ask is how Japan is doing so well with no lockdowns and 1/50th our cases. I guess I should focus on the good examples because repeating insults only makes things worse, which is not better.

usually, but today, I think he's gone overboard and needs a vacation! Like all of us lol

I think people's behavior has been better than the leader's behavior. . Consider that in the US we don't get nice things like scientific surveys of infections and N95 masks. . Yes, we should be akamai enough to demand these. But they aren't even in the discussion on the news etc., so they are not part of the national dialogue.

@rogerstarkey5390 Not plausible. .

Life in the US is (usually) calm and productive. Where do you live?

I am not expecting a surge from Xmas. The wave is going down now. These things have their own momentum. They are not about protests or rallies or holidays or harleys. It's the virus dong virus things, and public health saving lives.

prospero ano y felicidada!

There was no TG surge. (look at the doggone data). 150m people are not traveling over Xmas. (use some common sense here) . I find the conclusion to be unsupported by the anecdotes given.

The Virus would like that, but Humans have been fighting viruses for over 500 million years. We have tricks we don't even know about yet. And vice versa. In some years of evolution, it may end up like a cold, never gone, but rarely fatal. We shall see. Mutation can produce more deadly and also less deadly forms, and the less deadly may have the advantage since we are isolating the bad cases.

Try watching the data, just for comfort. No Thanksgiving surge, wave going down now. . OK now that's enough data because a lot of it is not good news lol.

I agree, 150m is not a plausible number, unless "travel" includes people who walk a block to buy food.
