  1. Good on Tulane! Very impressive! They do better monitoring than most nations. I used to do bird surveys for the USFS and UH; random samples are the way to go. They are THE way to estimate prevalence.

  3. unfortunately, positivity rates are not a reliable measure of prevalence. We need random sample surveys like the UK does.

  5. Another great example of why random sample surveys are indispensible. They are in fact the only statistically valid way to estimate population prevalence. And they are cheap and easy. It is an enigma why more nations aren't doing them weekly.
