  2. That's wrong, the chemistry is not like that. hydrochloroquine isn't a disinfectant. Just because a compound has chlorine does not make it chemically active like bleach. Salt contains chlorine, but it is not toxic. Bleach has chlorine which is so active it basically burns on contact. If hydrochloroquine were like bleach, you couldn't drink tonic water!

  7.  @paulbork7647  I would be shocked if they did random sample testing, which is the only way to know the infection rate. Our species has not yet discovered statistics. The Kerbal Space Program is great, but we need p-values desparately!!

  8.  @buckan8r999  The PCR test will be the first test to show anything. After that, the antibody test will show results later, when your body really ramps up it's immune response. Both are useful. They give totally different information. It'd be ideal to do both at home for free with a mail in kit, or drive thru with 15 minute results.

  11. The antibody tests will be really easy to make. As in... how many billion do you want? Trillions? Ok. Mailing address? PCR is another beast. It requires fancy machines and chemicals. We can't PCR everyone (don't need to either).

  23.  @JillianReeves  I'm not sure that one/one contact (e.g., showing a house) is really the dynamite that people fear. Perhaps low-contact activities should begin to open in Hawaii. Idk, I'm a HI resident but not there now, so i can't really comment, but I am very surprised how low our numbers are since it's such a magnet for travel! But people depend on the ocean for more than a postcard view. It's life. In general in the USA, there are ~zero-contact businesses that could open, but are not allowed to open despite no risk factors (e.g., drive in theaters). On the other hand, opening crowded places like casinos or stadium events is ridiculous right now. Nevada's governor is "on crack." To me it's not when, but how to reopen. Not soon, not late, just smart.

"A rapid antigen test is a rapid diagnostic test suitable for point-of-care testing that directly detects the presence or absence of an antigen. This distinguishes it from other medical tests that detect antibodies or nucleic acid" Maybe there are three basic types, PCR (which looks for RNA), antibody, and antigen?
