@vtee361 It's hard to ague with success! . I also hear what you are saying about getting less careful. When you're down towards zero cases even one virus slips through and it is a big deal. I worked in conservation of native plants and animals in Hawaii, so am very aware of the importance of "keeping islands islands" in that respect. . I wonder if this virus will go extinct in a couple years or not...

people with natural immunity: 30% people vaccinated: 0% and rising goal: 70% timeline: ?

@mimibergerac7792 Indeed, the "nay sayers" have included people asking about Ivermectin, which is important, and people defending human rights, such as the right to refuse preventive medicine, which is important. . And yes a lot of it is bunk, but that gives us a chance to see what bunk is floating around the web.
2
@mimibergerac7792 yes indeed

cannabis? CBD oil in particular might help, try it on the hands and see if that helps. I don't know about arthritis but it works for my muscle and joint pains.
2
What is your fear about getting the vaccine? . Do you have severe allergies? If not maybe it's ok for you.

@humourless682 Hey don't leave out the US! We don't do random sample surveys, so we have no clue about true case numbers. Last check they were 9x higher than the crude numbers would tell us, but try to find that actual CDC study...

The A1 Media List Maker's List: 1. Find something bad to say 2. Make a scary list 3. Find something good to say 4. Don't say it 5. Feed cat . PS Not dissing John here, he'll say good news when he finds it

Yes, the only case numbers that are remotely accurate are the ones from random sample surveys. . I think the death numbers are often relatively accurate. Case numbers are off by 9x in the US, according to a recent CDC report.
1
Quarantine works when the country is clean. If it has high cases, new cases coming in would not affect much.
1
Few countries are counting cases scientifically. Most are probably counting deaths in some reasonable fashion.
1
The "risk" is that the HIV test gives a false positive. They knew it might happen and warned people in the trials.
1
Not a vector for HIV. Not causing AIDS. Just messing with HIV tests.
1
Indeed, there is a lot of assuming in the world today. Cases go up, someone must be evil. I think it hearkens back to the concept of Heaven and Hell, and original spin. . Modern science has discovered animalcules, which can be very strong little critters, and have their own nations, armies, and news programming. Give them some credit folks!
1
They must be bullshit, since 9 months have not passed since the vaccine testing began.
1
@anthroariel https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ . keep in mind that the case numbers are not scientifically collected, not designed to be a survey, and can be off by a factor of 2x to 10x to 20x or more.

@-TheRealThing- Yes, I saw an estimate of the excess death rate at ~ 300k for the US for the year to date. Of that, 200k from Covid, 100k from lockdowns and other disruptions of normal life.
1
What is happening in your country? I am in the US. In my county there are lots of cases, few deaths, and no program to monitor the true numbers of cases. . We got snow yesterday! Hope you are staying healthy.
1
@jerrycann9072 Per capita could mean per 100k or per million, both are very common. . Use the right words, or Trump will have all the best words, by default.

This just in from Dr. Campbell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLWQtT7dHGE
1
The death numbers are probably accurate, but the case numbers are off by a factor of 5x or 10x or more. . What we call case numbers are not collected in a systematic way, and are not designed to estimate total cases. They are just a count of positive tests.
1
Yes, unless you know you had the virus. In that case, no.
1
Those numbers can be off by a factor of 10 or more, though, as they are not collected in a scientific survey.
1
CDC etc. said health care workers and care homes will get the first shots in the US.
1
@angelatester2471 Please! There's always something to worry about, such as, not worrying enough!! .
1
@doriangray_1999 There are now 3 randomized controlled trials showing Ivermectin very effective in hospitalized Covid patients.
1
Perhaps California will decide some day to use basic science to count cases. . Like the other states, including mine, they are currently using the "What you don't see can't hurt you" theory of disease monitoring.
1
Carpe Diem Yes, this is exactly why random invitation testing is the only way to estimate true numbers. For the US, and any country that can't test everyone regularly.

Dis you try searching Campbell Ivermectin? . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLWQtT7dHGE
