  5. I agree. Using positivity to estimate prevalence is like using the number of McDonalds ads to estimate beef consumption. Why not just ask people how much beef they eat?

  14. Yeah that 250k figure seems to boggle the statistical mind! . The study assumed that correlation is causation. But, there were many things going on coincidentally with the rally -- such as schools opening. . Thus, I rate your comment Pants Not On Fire at All (=True). The evidence is indeed thin, at best. It exists, but it is purely circumstantial.

  15. Like many nations, we don't have a well articulated national strategy that uses science to present realistic alternatives. . There's little actionable data available. There's almost no proper sampling to estimate actual risk in our various cities and states.
